Hello experts,
One of my regular clients has sent a txml file for translation. He has also sent its Word (.doc) file with it. I had no difficulty in translating up to initial 30-40 segments but after it, it has become very slow. The translation typed by me does not appear immediately in target segments and it takes time for all the typed characters to display which is causing a great deal of delay and embarrassment. the problem still persists. I removed TM look up window, deactivated the spell checker and transcheck but it has not helped.

Just in case: what do you mean by "removed TM look up window"? Did you untick Perform TM Lookup automatically, under Edit > Preferences > Translation Memory?

Chopra uses a very old version of WFP; so I am wondering if the "Perform TM Lookup automatically" option is there in the first place.

TM lookup - I read in an old forum post that not using the TM lookup might help. That is why, I removed the TM lookup by clicking on X on TM lookup which is displayed under the segments.
I use Wordfast Pro 2.3.0. My client wants me to use it only.
The file is just 102 kb.
I do not think that it has to do anything with speed of this version because other files are working fine on this version itself.
I look forward to further suggestions.

I have no idea why your client insists on you using 2.3.0, which is a very old version, but what you could do is the following (if you have a 2nd computer, or access to a virtual machine on your main computer): install a copy of 3.1.0 on your 2nd computer (or the VM on your main computer); translate files in 3.1.0; when you're finished, translate the same file from scratch on the other computer with 2.3.0, using the TM you have obtained in 3.1.0 and the Translate Until Fuzzy command.
You would be able to reap all the benefits from the newer version (and your slowness problem may disappear altogether) and you will would as little time as possible in the old (or should I say, antique) version. Yet you would be able to deliver a "2.3.0 compatible" TXML.
The Wordfast license agreement allows specifically the installation and use on two different computers (for freelancers) and there is no extra cost for upgrading to the latest version if your license is valid (as it is, otherwise you couldn't use 2.3.0 in full mode either).

For your kind information, I always use text view to translate and I think that the reason behind the problem is unknown.
Allah hu akbar (God is great). I divided the Word file consisting of 14 pages into 7 parts and the problem was solved. Now, there is no delay. I hope that I would not be having any difficulty in translating the main file with the memory created by translating these 7 files.

As I said, there should be no need to buy the latest version: if your license is valid, you are entitled to download and install the latest version available at any given time, without paying anything.

The current version (3.1.0) has a "split and merge" function that should do just that: split a large TXML into smaller pieces, and then merge the pieces back into the original file.
The feature probably didn't exist in version 2.3.0, which would be one more reason to upgrade.
