I treated myself to a pair of fingerless cashmere gloves and a cashmere blanket for when the wind is howling down from the snowcapped mountains I can see from my office window. My next body protection investment is going to be a roll of draught excluder for the window .

Sure, I protect my booty by sitting on a theraball (otherwise known as medicine ball or Swiss ball). It's 75 cm in diameter, which is pretty tall, like a task chair. This way, I work on my core (meaning, abdominal muscles) and my legs don't get too cramped. My neck doesn't get too straight either, which helps with those occasional neck cramps.
Oh, you mean body? I thought you said 'protect your booty.'

I think the poll question could have been rephrased differently, as in "do you use any special or ergonomic equipment while working at a computer?"
Let's review some basic English here. If I say "I am working on the computer" I mean that I am doing some repair or maintenance (ie, changing memory chips) to my computer.
On the other hand, if I am working and using the computer as my tool, it's "I am working AT my computer."
I agree with my colleagues...The phrasing "to protect your body" lends itself to unintended humor and hilarity.

Has turned out to be the perfect mouse pad elevation whenever my right wrist is acting up. For whatever reason it HAS to be Moby Dick. None of the other classics ever worked.

"What books do you use to elevate your mouse pad?" Maybe Ty would find that not so boring.
I use The CopyEditor's Handbook by Amy Einsohn, Line by Line: How to Edit Your Own Writing by Claire Kehrwald Cook, and an old address book to give me the perfect mouse pad elevation to prevent right wrist pain.
I suppose Middlemarch or Ulysses along with Another Roadside Attraction would serve the purpose just as well.

Much less intellectual than Moby Dick, Ulysses, War and Peace, the complete works of Shakespeare, the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, I'm afraid, all of which I tried, but I have my screen standing on the Manhattan Yellow Pages 1980-81 and the London Central Yellow Pages 1992/93 (a bit fatter), which brings it to the perfect height for my eyes, thus "protecting my body" I suppose.

I didn't disapprove of this poll, I just thought the wording lent itself toward misinterpretation (humorous misinterpretation).
