File translated in WFP is displayed blank while re-opening - Urgent help requested

Hello experts,

I almost translated a txml file and only a few segments were left. I duly saved it before closing. When I opened it after some time, I was surprised to know that the translation had vanished. I tried to translate it by pressing Alt+Down but I was astonished to know that the target segment is not being filled with translation despite the fact that the translation is available in memory.

I tried to translate the copy of this file and this time it reproduced the translation from memory but when I save and reopen it, it meets the same fate.

Could you please suggest what exactly is wrong and what should I do? I am very disturbed because only one hour is left in deadline. It has never happened to me earlier.

Language variants maybe Apr 4, 2012

I am not expert, but this has happened to me. It was the language variant (EN-US when it was supposed to be EN-GB, or something. I could not fix it., but through PM view is possible to export a RTF two-column file. Which produced only Source text with empty target. Then I needed to copy paste my translation to this RTF. Then re-import to WFP.

Dear Chopra,

Try to always open the TXML file directly from the folder instead of opening the source document from the File menu recent files, you see?

Dear Yasmin,

I double click on the txml file to open. I have been doing so for the last one year i.e. from the day, I began using WFP, but have never faced this problem.

How should I fix it?

Incompatibility? Apr 4, 2012

Can this problem be caused by the fact that the txml file was created in a higher version and translated in a lower version?

I sought the help of one of my friends. I sent him the file. After a few minutes, he sent the file back to me. I was surprised to see that the text which was not visible in the txml file sent by me was visible now. I asked him about it. He told me that he simply opened the file sent by me and then used "Save as"

Could you please suggest what exactly is wrong and should I do to avoid the same situation in future.
