Friends,
I have Trados Freelance 7.0, Window XP and MS Office 2003. I was translating a MS Word document and suddenly my computer got turned off automatically (this has happened for the first time with my this PC in 3 years). Friends,
I have Trados Freelance 7.0, Window XP and MS Office 2003. I was translating a MS Word document and suddenly my computer got turned off automatically (this has happened for the first time with my this PC in 3 years). I had not saved the file but I was confident that since I am translating by means of Trados, the translation would have gone into my memory and I'll retrieve the same. But much to my surprise, when I opened the segments after the computer automatically got restarted, I found that it is not reproducing the translation.
Is not it unusual and strange? At last, I had no other option, but to re-translate each and every segment. Could you please tell me what exactly went wrong?

Save?

You probably did not hit the Save button, while translating that portion. I am using Studio 2009, and the entries appear in the TM only when I save them in the bilingual file, as far as I know.

Translated segments were saved in a different TM (for instance project TM rather than your main one) or in project settings you did not check the box "Update TM")

I agree with you that this is strange. I had a similar case (sudden shut down) except that everything was there in TM!
