thank you very much for this. I have indeed contacted the support team and was invited to work on line with one of the technicians. it took us 2 sessions over 2 days, but we got there. A file had been corrupted. After a meltdown week-end, my TM is back in order. | | | KarstenB Germany Local time: 05:00 English to German
Hello Hilary Can you please post here which file was corrupted and had to be exchanged? I believe to have a similar problem here (mscorlib.dll not found) and re-installations didn't help here, either. Best regards, Karsten | |

Here is part of the msg I sent to someone else who contacted me directly about this pb. I hope it helps you solve the problem. Here is her msg Before we do so, can you please try the following: go to C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\9.1.0.0 and delete the following three files BaseSettings.xml plugincache.xml UserSettings.xml If you cannot see these files, please make sure you can see hidden files and folders first: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Show-hidden-files Also, from C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL delete the follwing three files: Sdl.Enterprise.CredentialProvider.xml Sdl.Enterprise.ServerConnectionManager.xml Sdl.ProjectApi.CustomCredentialProvider.xml Now try starting Studio again. For me, it still didn't work. These files should automatically re-install themselves, but the last one didn't. she saved the AppData/Roaming/SDL folder as SDL_bak and then I got a bit lost. I think she searched all over my computer and finally tracked the ProjectApi file and inserted it in the correct place. If you look at the detailed error msg, it should give you an indication as to which file cannot be found. I hope this helps, ▲ Collapse | | | the solution that worked for me | Jun 10, 2010 |
In my particular case the solution was the following: Close Studio, then rename the following foders to [originalfoldername]_old: 1. Under Libraries\Documents\My Documents rename the folder "SDL Trados Studio" to "SDL Trados Studio_old" 2. Under C:\ProgramData rename the "SDL" folder to "SDL_old". 3. Under C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\ rename the SDL folder to SDL_old. Then restart Studio And it worked perfect... Hi Hilary and MPalma Thanks for posting your solutions to the problems. It might help someone who comes here with a similar problem. Unfortunately it didn't work in my case. So I decided to start all over again and erased my hard disk to set up a clean Windows installation. Now it seems to work... but there's the next problem with my notebook, where I can't copy from the concordance box. But this is another story (I guess the file is to big; seems to work with smaller ones). B... See more Hi Hilary and MPalma Thanks for posting your solutions to the problems.
