Always hard to find an expression for something that doesn't really exist in the target language, but to me croft has the right associations of smallholding, using the land etc. Translating dagsverkare as day labourer is just a suggestion.

Skogstorp was a smaller 'day labour' tenant farm, where the land was part of the Häradstorps estate. (or Farm, or farmland, depending on the specifics of this particular property and context).

Does you context refer to the housing on the 'torp'?
