I know the trámex part is a bar grating, as I've had it come up before (see http://www.proz.com/kudoz/1512452 for refs.). I suppose the "vanos" part here refers to openings/voids covered by the gratings. I think "bar gratings" on its own is all you need to fit into your sentence.

I don't see why it would be limited to only the 'tramex' type, which is the blue one on this web site. A caveat is stated that they are only designed for the weight of a pedestrian.

: vano = span. We do not use vano for small openings such as airducts etc.
