Bryggen

This isn't really a pronunciation forum, but hey - Bryggen, which could be the famous waterfront landmark in Bergen. is pronounced pretty much the way it's written. Brig-N, near enough, with the i pronounced like the beginning of Bruxelles (not Brussels). The literal meaning of bryggen is 'the pier'.

Actually, an easier explanation of the pronunciation might be just to tack an 'n' onto the back of that other Belgian city of Brügge/Brugge, or for that matter the tiny German township Brügge, some 100 clicks north of Hamburg.
