Japanese term

愛しいって、 こういうことを言うのかしら

Japanese to English Art/Literary Games / Video Games / Gaming / Casino Romance/乙女ゲーム
Here's a softball, and some easy points, for you more experienced translators out there. For some reason I can't get the English for this in my head.

For further context, this is a thought of the protagonist after making love with her husband for the first time (I think.)

Any thoughts?

Discussion

Lincoln Hui Aug 4, 2013:
It means the feeling of loving someone here. "Adore" or "adoration" might more closely describe the feeling, but "love" is more appropriate in terms of the language.
Andrew Huntington (X) (asker) Aug 4, 2013:
Both options sound good. I just never heard いとしい used in a context that means love. Usually it describes something that is dear or loved. ex. いとしい我が子

I guess you could tag "...that I'm feeling" on to the end!!
Peer comment(s):

agree bornintheusa (X) : Sounds nice and simple. Also, if this is a video game, most who create script are not professional writers so they tend to either over emphasize or automatically try to make it fancy using Kanji, so keeping it simple is the best approach.

agree Lincoln Hui : I think a slightly verbose sentence should be given a slightly verbose translation.

I guess I agree. My suggestion actually feels a bit masculine and simplistic for the given context. But then, it is a great song!
