In a brochure for a hotel in a ski resort, I find the phrase: "il Resort (the name of the Hotel) dispone anche di un **residence**, una soluzione di charme per chi desidera trascorrere una vacanza in piena indipendenza e privacy". I suppose by the context that the "residence" contains holiday flats, but how can I translate "residence" itself, which reoccurs often in the text? Thanks, Sarah.

holiday apartment complex
that's how I translate it - then use just "complex" where possible

flats unit/ flats complex
in Italian residence means a whole of flats, sometimes they are all similar and are part of a small village. I think flats unit/complex could be suitable.

suite
By 'holiday' I assume you're in the U.K., but in the states we call this a suite. As in, a regular room or a suite? Would you like the honeymoon suite? etc., etc... Don't know if that term is understood 'across the pond.'

: A 'residence' is an apartment complex, whereas a suite is more of a luxury hotel room (i.e no kitchen)
