Italian term

debito triennio per biennio

Italian to English Art/Literary Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs
This is a subject in a music librarianship type degree course. The full course name is:

Lettura della partitura (debito triennio per biennio)

I have read the other kudoz questions from the glossary, and I am aware that"debito" indicates a deficit or preparatory course, but I do not know how this fits into the 2 and 3 years specification in the course description.

@ Kate @ Phil Well I just used "for" as there are not that many occasions that this literal translation cannot be used for this preposition, although I am aware the same is not so for other preps.
But I am happy with the change I made to"debito" part following discussion posts, so I am grateful for everyone's help @ phil also.

per To be honest I hadn't even seen that the link I provided was also available in English and I agree that the translation isn't the best. What I was meaning was to ask the client for an explanation of "per". Does it mean that the student failed to complete the subject in the three-year course and carried it over to the two-year one?

Final choice - remedial catch up As I have to send this back now, I have opted for:
" (remedial catchup for 2 & 3 year courses)"

@ Kate Why? I understand what this is from the link you provided that it is hours owed for non qualified students to take this level of exam. I am looking for a native English term to use. Do you not think your link is necessarily relevant.? I am not sure my client's translation will be any better than the link you provided, which used the term "course debt". I think this translation (which does not look like native speaker language) is a little inaccurate, but the description sounds credible.

Yes You should normally leave questions for at least 24 hours. And "deficit" doesn't really cover it - it needs a sentence of explanation.
