Merci, Bohy ! I believe that the principle of the directrix is the same in both cases: it is the line that is rotated to create a cylinder or cone.

It seems to me therefore that "generatrix" is the word I'm looking for.
ikewise, directrix curves of the ruled surface can be determined by means of the dual sphere spline interpolation algorithm
