French to English Other Mathematics & Statistics electrical testing on a device
This is the title of column which gives results of certain electrical tests on a CO analyser device. The results are in % of reading. Any help much appreciated.

Assuming the sample population is normally distributed, the probability of a randomly selected sample being 2 standard deviations either side of the mean is (from memory) about 5%. 1.96 sigma rings a bell.

Maybe, but this would have to assume this is a 2-sided test. It probably is, but can we be sure?
agree John Fossey : Uncertainty is correct, thats what the sentence is about - incertitude. Standard deviation is the quantification of uncertainty.
