: Joystick is now an outdated term. Gaming devices have progressed and moved forward. "Joysticks" have been upgraded to "gamepads" / "joypads" / "control pads". See BeCrystalClear's answer and link.

: Although 'manette' may be translated as 'joystick' when it refers to that specific element, I don't believe the term is used to refer to the thing as a whole.
