The History of Socialism
Greetings
The Diggers and the Levellers are two proto-socialist groups who frequently worked together during the Civil War which took place in seventeenth century Britain and Ireland. Please, how could we translate the name of the first of these two groups into Turkish?
“Digger” = somebody who digs the land in order to grow food etc.
Best wishes, and many thanks,
Simon

This is a figurative way of describing social classes in the society. So, it means the farmers (producers) class of the society.
