I was asked to translate this term and it seems to mean "to join someone in boisterous play; to participate in rough play with someone". It was also an American TV series in the 80's about a horse who adopt three children (?).
But I still can't find a good solution for the translation. Any suggestion is welcome!

fatto è che se sono trasmissioni/programmi/film/ecc. non li puoi chiamare come vuoi tu, perché hanno un titolo ben preciso - se si tratta di rendere l'idea (chessò, fra parentesi, o con una nota) mantenendo l'idea equina puoi buttarla su "matto come un cavallo" :-)
