English term

transported back to the liver

English to Hungarian Medical Medical (general)
In:
Some of harmful substances may be reabsorbed into the bloodstream again and transported back to the liver, remaining in the enterohepatic circulation.

We have got:
Néhány káros anyag újra visszakerül a véráramba, és visszaszállítódnak a májhoz, megmarad az enterohepatikus cirkulációban.

But visszaszállítódnak = retrograde? We would like to get "transported back" in another a sense, its meaning should be near "return to the liver" (1-2 and more times - circulation).

Thanks in advance!

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Virág-Lilla Rácz Jun 28, 2013:
visszaszállítódnak is OK, it does not mean regtrograde, but exactly what you need: transported back. I would use the word in singular: "néhány káros anyag (singular)... VISSZASZÁLLÍTÓDIK (singular) a májhoz".

visszaszállítódnak

I chose an intermediate confidence since I do not completely understand what your problem was. "are transported back" = "visszaszállítódnak". The Hungarian translation has some minor grammatical issues, however, the English original's meaning is well conveyed.

My hunch is that you looked up in Google translator the English translation for "visszaszállítódnak" which gives "retrograde": this is nonsense, a total mistranslation.
Note from asker:
Thank you! Yes, you are right, I have used google and decided to check up.
Peer comment(s):

agree Celestine Barna : The translation is good, and google still does a lot of mistranslation to get "retrograde" as a translation of "visszaszállítódnak"

visszaszállításra kerül a májhoz

The translation is absolutely ok, but the following example sentence may be more precise.

The options you might require:
"visszakerül a májba" or "Visszajut a májba" or "visszaszállításra kerül a májhoz"

Example sentence:

Néhány káros anyag ismét felszívódhat a véráramba, majd visszakerül a májba, és ezáltal bent marad az enterohepatikus cirkulációban.

Néhány káros anyag ismét felszívódhat a véráramba, majd visszajut a májba, és ezáltal bent marad az enterohepatikus cirkulációban.

Peer comment(s):

neutral Virág-Lilla Rácz : "Visszakerül" and "visszajut" is OK, but "visszaszálításra kerül" doesn't sound natural to a Hungarian ear, even though grammatically is correct.
