: Yes, but it isn't the 'mode conversion' that generates the signal: it is the signal being generated from one form to another that is referred to as 'mode conversion'; so although your explanations are correct, I think your inferred translation is wrong.

This EN has a curious ring to it, I'm suspecting a non-native writer and/or prior translation.
In certain contexts involving Fourier transforms, we can find analysis signals being converted between domains: the time and the frequency domains; but it's not clear to me from the available context whether a) this analysis is in any way related to this field, and b) whether 'mode' is an error for 'domain' or not?
