English to French Tech/Engineering Geology

Je bataille avec la traduction de ce terme (striker).

Voici un extrait expliquant le fonctionnement de l'appareil en question : "XXXX is a piercing tool designed for use in creating horizontal holes through the earth [...] The tools use pneumatic power to drive the striker inside the tool forward at a very high velocity. The striker then impacts the anvil at the front of the tool, driving the tool forward into the soil".

Merci d'avance de votre aide, car bien que le sens soit clair, je ne trouve pas le bon terme technique en français.
