Danish term

løfte

Danish to English Law/Patents Government / Politics
I am translating an action plan and I'm at times a little unsure how to interpret løfte, i.e whether it means to boost or to achieve/fulfil.
I would be interesting to hear thoughts on this:

Arbejdet på området kan ikke løftes uden de rette ressourcer og instrumenter.

At løfte de globale klimaambitioner samt sociale og sundhedsmæssige udfordringer kan kun ske ved fælles indsats gennem tætte partnerskaber ...

Et særligt sigtepunkt for indsatsen er at understøtte, at endnu flere får gavn af rådgivningen og løfter deres eksport.

This is not very good Danish, in any case. You can obviously look up the described meanings of the verb at the link I have posted, but it only gives you some of the answers. I wouldn't stick to literal translations but rather consider how you would say in English what the writer probably means, e.g.:

accomplish the work
achieve the ambitions
meet the challenges
increase the export

Thanks
agree Christine Andersen : ´at kunne løfte en opgave´ is often a question of whether someone is capable of it, or the expression indicates effort or help may be required. (examples 1 and 2) It is a frequently used expression, like it or not!

Thanks. Yes, that one is common and also mentioned in Ordnet, but using it in the passive voice and with 'arbejde' looks a bit odd to me, as do the other examples.
