Request for/to Bid Explanation: Hello Sikle, in the Tenders and Procurements terminology the term "Bid" is used for "Quote", "Offer". The difference between Quote and Bid is that a "quote" is not always a "bid", which is the price or your proposal that you give to be compared with the other in a tender/procurement procedure, and that is why "Quote" is used more in markets, exchange markets, etc, whereas "Bid" is used more in tender & procurements.
