con tender si intende l'offerta di appalto, cioè l'offerta scritta fatta da un appaltatore, di compiere determinati lavori ad un prezzo stabilito, di solito in concorrenza con altri offerenti, se l'offerta viene rifiutata l'offerente è libero da qualsiasi ulteriore obbligazione.
Con bid, invece si intende ls licitazione, ossia l'offerta di un prezzo ad una gara di apalto.
