French term or phrase: support
I am translating an insurance document for a policy that is intended to build up and enhance capital through investments, such as real estate.
The policy keeps using the French word support (over and over again) for the investments that generate capital.

Support does not seem to be appropriate here in English, so I am wondering how I should translate the French word support.
Perhaps investment modality, or investment medium?

Here is how I am currently translating the word in a sentence:

Le versement initial que vous effectuez sera investi sur le support monétaire présenté en annexe.
The initial payment you make will be invested in the monetary support listed in the Annex.

This does not seem right to me.

Any suggestions about how to translate this term?

Many thanks,
William

Explanation:
Low CL here but this should work IF the capital generating investments in the document are all funds. For Asker to check.

Otherwise, maybe consider a gloss such as "revenue generator"

Fund is the best answer for my purposes.
All of the sources of revenue mentioned are either real estate investment funds or other types of funds.

In the quoted sentence, I think the phrase "support monétaire" means "currency of denomination".

le support monétaire (d'un investissement)
Monetary Investment Medium

Explanation:
le support monétaire (d'un investissement) = the monetary form in which the investment gets "materialised / put into existence" [same idea as in a body "supporting" someone's life]

see:

L’assurance vie permet d’investir son épargne dans un fonds en euros, des unités de compte (risque de perte en capital) et/ou un fonds Euro-croissance. Trois supports qui offrent une grande diversité en matière de sécurité et de potentiel de rendement, ce qui les rend très complémentaires.

Investment Medium means any fund, contract, obligation, or other mode of investment to which a Participant may direct the investment of the assets of his Account including, effective January 1, 2005, a Company Stock fund (the “Company Stock Fund”) consisting of shares of Company Stock and short- term money market investments in which funds may be temporarily invested pending investment in shares of Company Stock.

[investment] vehicle

Explanation:
"Investment vehicle" is commonly used in the context described, to refer to various types of investments that generate returns. If you click between languages on the HSBC link, you can see that "support de placement" has been translated to "investment vehicle." I believe that "support monétaire" specifically would translate as "cash vehicle": https://www.capitaladvisors.com/research/comprehensive-cash-...

(euro) denominated funds, stocks, investments, instruments, assets, portfolio?
"fonds en euros" being low risk and guaranteed to a certain point in France v. "unités de compte" high(er) risk and not guaranteed
