disagree  Jennifer Levey: The neutral is also a conductor, so your translation doesn't reflect the specific nature of the 'travelers'.//Double-disagree - this is AC wiring - there's no + vs -.

-> Alright, positive conductor then; earthed current is negative current.

agree  Giovanni Rengifo: I think you're absolutely right. I'd use "conductor" too. A three-wire cable consists of two conductors and a neutral. "de tres hilos" is fine, but I think "trifilar" is commonly used.

disagree  Jennifer Levey: This is very misleading, because there is only one fase, which powers the load via one 'traveler' or the other.

disagree  Giovanni Rengifo: I think Jennifer's right here. It seems apparent they're speaking of a single-phase power supply system.

conector interno

Explanation:
Tipically, a traveler system or "common" system used to control one single location uses two 3-way switches in a compact array, interconected by a pair of wires called "travelers" in the US and "strappers" in the UK. The array is fed with the phase or hot conductor, and the neutral conductor, the latter one passing through the array via a third wire or neutral connector. After passing through the array, the hot and neutral conductors are fed to the load. Thus, the two "travelers" are nothing but two internal connectors located inside the array. Note that the Wikipedia ilustration does not show the third neutral connector.
