Explanation:
Das Getriebe dient dazu, die vom Motor und der Turbine zur Verfügung gestellten (Einzel-)Leistungen zusammenzufassen. Mit der Schrotflinte würde ich jetzt auch noch "miteinander zu verbinden, zu kombinieren" einfügen, aber das macht man ja bekanntlich nicht. "miteinander zu verschalten" ginge tatsächlich auch, da der Begriff "schalten" nicht automatisch das Schalten von elektrischen Stromkreisen zu bedeuten hat. Ende der Gießkanne.

-> Hat somit die Gießkanne ihren Zweck erfüllt. Warten wir die Schrotflinte ab. Nachher heißt es dann doch noch "Kompoundierung"...

Rolf Keller: Heutzutage nutzen Übersetzer modernste computergestützte Hilfsmittel, z. B. Infrarotsichtgeräte für die Schrotflinten, damit kann man dann auch im Nebel danebenschießen.

-> Mit der Aalforke konnte und durfte man früher hier im Norden zum Sumpfstochern gehen, mit z. T. ganz kapitalen Fangergebnissen. Resultat: Aale sind so gut wie ausgestorben und die Stichlinge vermehren sich massenhaft.

-> Leistungen summieren habe ich auch irgendwo mal gelesen. So langsam haben wir ja wohl alles zusammengekratzt, was irgendwie passend wäre, auch wenn wir alle dem allsehenden Auge Gottes zufolge wieder mal "danebenschießen".

Da es in diesem Fall keine bessere Übersetzung für „to compound" gibt, schlage ich vor, diese Anleihe am englischen Begriff zu übernehmen.

Also: Turbine und Motors werden parallel betrieben wirken beim Zusammenkuppeln auf die gleiche Abtriebswelle. Damit addieren sich beide Leistungen.

Schtroumpf: "Compoundieren" würde ich nicht verstehen. Kombinieren oder zusammenfassen schon eher. // Übersetzungen zu Turbinen habe ich schon mehr gemacht, als ich zählen kann. Aber "compoundieren" habe ich noch nirgends gelesen.

"Configured", a series of turbos, kompressors (turbos) fluid coupling torque multipliers, with lock up direct drive clutch system, the speeds and power and TORQUE are regulated, configured by complex system. (Seems to me there is confusion by the technical writer about the meaning of TORQUE, Power, Compound etc, many techno writers just finished reading Shakespeare.
Seems can not tell whethr Turbo is fluid, exhaust etc Source document is not clear.
