sterilization time


Explanation:
Sterilization time is the time above sterilization temperature.

2. After the vacuum pulses have removed almost all of the air inside the chamber, the pressure and temperature increase.
3. We have now reached the sterilization stage where the temperature and pressure are held constant for the duration of the sterilization time, also known as holding time. This is the phase when the actual sterilization takes place, i.e., goodbye to germs.

We can see from the graphics that the holding time (constant temperature) covers nearly all of the sterilization time and only small proportions of increase time + decrease time (above the min. sterilization temperature).

The editor neglected to mention these small transition times as being of minor interest.
