Discussion

Giovanni Rengifo (asker) Jun 14, 2021:
@Joseph Hi Joseph, I think you're right on the money here. Thank you so much for the tip. I gave a lot of thought to this, but couldn't find or come up with anything as compelling as your answer.
Joseph Tein Jun 14, 2021:
Keep GPV GPV, in this context, appears to mean "Global Pharmacovigilance"

"...The Global Pharmacovigilance (GPV) Transformation Office is responsible to provide leadership support and strategic direction for the GPV ..."

Another example from an online source: "In order to maximize our knowledge on the use of our portfolio in real-world conditions, Sanofi's Global Pharmacovigilance Department (GPV) has established an effective global organization to passively and actively collect pharmacovigilance data from all sources of information around the world."

GPV database

GPV can mean "Grid Point Value", but as Joseph notes in the discussion, in the given context it most likely refers to the "Global Pharmacovigilance (GPV) database".
The links below are to PDFs, for some reason the proz page doesn't like them.

Example sentence:

...while ensuring the GPV database and supporting tools are meeting the needs...

...query of its Global Pharmacovigilance (GPV) database.

Peer comment(s):

agree Joseph Tein : Cosnautas gives 8 possible meanings of GPV. They do not show Global Pharmacovigilance, but in this context that's what makes the most sense.//Thanks for your reply ... I like that this will go down in history.

I thought it best to post this as an answer rather than just leaving your discussion comment for posterity.

If related to drugs and who manages their distribution/availability, the proposed term could work.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Joseph Tein : Yossel ... this relates specifically to a "serious [adverse] event (acontecimiento adverso)." This is where pharmacovigilance comes in. They keep track of negative/harmful drug reactions. It's not about sales or distribution or marketing :)
