Strange though it may sound, "material" is auditorspeak for significant, or as one auditor friend put it, BIG.
After the audit, the auditors will ask the client to confirm all such items they noted during the audit, to make sure that they are not due to an error or indicative or some problem or unusual situation that may affect this year's or future years' accounts.

disagree  WebTC: can be larger than simply items and points ... and some other appreciation should be taken in account in this case ...

The word \"elements\" must be considered as a generic word grouping points, items, facts, culture of entreprise, social incidence, ... very large indeed ...
