Hello
The context is easy to give. if there are roadworks, the traffic has to be diverted.
But where i come unstuck is that I have the term "Överledning" which is an "overpass diversion" (me thinks), but i have to contrast this with "omledning" so I need a word/phrase emphazising traffic is diverted "AROUND".
Coming up in the text, I can see two more type of "half-diversions" , Förbifart and Förbiledning but I'll cross those bridges [sic] when I come to them
Any ideas please for "OMledning"

This is apparently what they use in the UK... can testify to it being used in the US -- seen it with my own eyes, but look it up!!
Search "temporary diversion" + "road construction" + "UK" (UK to avoid all the hits from India, Singapore, etc.) or "US"

They didn't give a one line definition but discussed points that made it clear that you are going COMPLETELY around the worksite using different roads altogether
There are advance signs for this type of diversion like "Road blocked 2 km ahead. Follow diversion signs"
You probably never get to see the roadworks in question with this type of diversion whereas with other types, you do as you pass very close by, sometimes even in the next lane to the roadworks.
Överledning = Trafiken leds över på andra körbanan på en mötesseparerade väg... which matches your 'förbiledning'
But yeah, it's getting late.
It's late and maybe I wasn't clear but at present, I have "around diversion" and "over diversion" to make the distinction I need but I'm not exactly happy with this solution.
