French term or phrase: étui cutanéo-graisseux
This is in a report about liposuction, in a section on mastectomies. I've done a bit of research trying to figure this out, and I think they're talking about something that is referred to in English as a skin-sparing mastectomy (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S029412600... But I can't quite figure out how to translate this. It seems to be the skin being spared, but I don't know what the term for it is in English. In a lot of the resources I looked at, there is reference to a skin flap, but I think that's a piece of skin that comes from another part of the body as part of a breast reconstruction after mastectomy? Am I overthinking this and should just translate it as skin? I don't know. Help! I have been looking at diagrams of mastectomies for an hour and I can't take much more.

Thank you!

Context:

Masectomie

Patient selection for this technique was based mainly on intraoperative assessment of at least 5 mm of subcutaneous fat with the skin envelope and the good viability of the skin flap. The suitability for subcutaneous placement of implants was subsequently decided by the senior author. The only exclusion criterion was if the patient was deemed too slim by the senior surgeon preoperatively and thus would benefit from ADM coverage to avoid implant visibility and rippling.

They are talking about preservation of this, so it must be part of the breast, rather than a flap from another part of the body.
