representative offices
These are offices which are set up, normally in foreign countries, for the purposes of marketing and non-operational activities, i.e. the office has no power to enter into agreements, for example sales, in the name of the company, i.e. it has no powers of representation to act on behalf of the company. Representative offices are normally set up in places where a branch or subsidiary is unwarranted.
