A pesar de que no sé todavía el significado de "pango" (que es otra pregunta que tengo pendiente!), tampoco entiendo su modo de construcción en que fue "soldado de paño".

El uso de A PAÑO quiere decir: a mismo nivel, y se usa más en construcción, para referirse al nivel de los suelos, etc.
