Portuguese term

Descaminhos

Portuguese to English Art/Literary Games / Video Games / Gaming / Casino
From a roleplaying game adventure; a wrong path meant to disorient the characters, leading them to get lost.
"Descaminho" is most commonly used in an emotional sense, rather than to mean a physical path as is the case here:
___

A seguir você utilizará as tabelas para construir os caminhos e descaminhos para o grupo.

You can use the following tables to build the paths and (___) for the group.
___

I'm inclined to create a neologism for it; "errs", making a noun of the verb "to err", but I'm looking for suggestions before I resort to that.

Yeah, I was wondering what happened; my email inbox wouldn't stop after asking the question.
Thank you to everyone who suggested an option, you guys are great!

Hope it helps :)

Wow....this may be a record in our PT-EN pair! I've been around here in Proz / KudoZ for about 10 years now (on and off) and don't think we've had a total of 9 answers on a single question before. I suppose that's healthy and shows interest in participating.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you! I'm adding a couple others to the glossary entry, but for what I need, "pitfalls" is perfect. It's a great fit for the adventure's tone, and "paths and pitfalls" even references the roleplaying tradition of alliterations."
