Company situation
Description of relationships of companies and executives in an international bribery case.
[x] tramite l’avvocato [y]...., ha quindi acquistato la societa [z], Uruguay......, la quale e intestataria di una relazione bancaria accesa presso un istituto bancario ginevrino.
Could I just stay "holds a registered bank account", or is the text implying something different?

holds a bank account (bank accounts) in its name with
The "intestato" means that the account or whatever is in its name (not a trust company or something - if you are taking bribes you want to use an account in somebody else's name).
The problem with "relazione" is that really means a "business relationship" which with a bank could be just one account or more than one account (current, savings, deposit, custody accounts). Of course you would say business relationship in this context in English.

Yes, you're right. Could be just an account, could be a line of credit or loan. But in the end an account is there for sure.
