The premium tax credit (PTC) is a refundable tax credit in the United States. It is payable by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to eligible households that have obtained healthcare insurance by a healthcare exchange (marketplace) in the tax year. It can be paid in advance directly to a healthcare insurance company to offset the cost of monthly health insurance premiums.

Creditul premium pe impozit


Explanation:
Creditul premium pe impozit este un stimulent care se acordă familiilor eligibile din S.U.A. care și-au încheiat asigurările de sănătate prin anumite societăți de asigurare, adică o parte din impozitul plătit de contribuabil la stat este virat de către IRS (Serviciul Intern de Colectare a impozitelor din S.U.A.) direct în contul societății de asigurare a sănătății, beneficiarul asigurării de sănătate fiind contribuabilul respectiv. Astfel, partea din impozit folosită pentru plata poliței de asigurare a sănătății este în fond rambursată contribuabilului. Prin această măsură introdusă de IRS în 2014 a crescut cu circa 18 milioane numărul persoanelor din S.U.A. care au asigurare de sănătate
