Hammerherr
I am looking for the translation of the term "Hammerherr". It is from a marketing text describing the importance a company has placed on education since the early days of industrialization.
Deshalb handelte der Hammerherr für seine Zeit vorbildlich und vorausschauend, als er beim Ausbau des Höllenhammers eine Schule für die Kinder seiner Arbeiter errichtete.
"Höllenhammer" has been described as a "water-driven forge", and I understand from Wikipedia that the "Hammerherr" might have been the boss/master of an "Eisenhammer", which was an iron hammer mill or iron hammer works.
Any ideas for translating "Hammerherr"?
