Spanish term

fuera de uso

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) Informe de gestión
"Retiros-
El Grupo ha procedido a dar de baja determinados elementos de su inmovilizado que se encontraban fuera de uso. En concreto, el Grupo ha dado de baja maquinaria e instalaciones de uno de sus barcos, con motivo de la reparación cuatrienal. Asimismo, durante el ejercicio 2014, el Grupo ha vendido determinados bienes de su inmovilizado."

A ver si me podéis sugerir alguna opción más para esta frase, sobre todo en los términos dar de baja y fuera de uso.

Mi opción es: The Group has removed several items of its end of life fixed assets.

Gracias.

Author's meaning should not be narrowed. Without doubt, "fuera de uso" often means "at end of useful life" or "obsolete". However, it also often means simply "not being used" or "no longer being used". To elect one of the first two would be to narrow the author's meaning, which would be unwise for a translator.

[were] not being utilized; not being used.

Straightforward.

I agree that the context is slightly ambiguous, but the author did not say "al final de su vida útil".

No longer in use; outdated; obsolete

No longer being utilized - 'Ya no utilizado/ya no usado más' Según el contexto no significa de uso poco frecuente, sino identificado como no aceptado, obsoleto o descalificado.
Example sentence:

Excepto para coleccionistas, los discos de vinilo ('LPs') han quedado prácticamente fuera de uso.

Other than for collectors, vinyl discs have become basically outdated and obsolete
