Italian term

quadro rosso

Italian to English Medical Medical (general)
Patient with myelodysplastic syndrome:

Peripheral blood smear: After the counts, there's this sentence:
"Quardo rosso con marcata anisocitosi."

I inquired with a doctor in Italy and he said quadro rosso did not exist. Serie rosse, perhaps.

How to translate this into English?

Thanks!

anisocytosis

Marked anisocytosis

There's no need to translate "quadro rosso", since anisocytosis refers exclusively to red cells
Peer comment(s):

agree LindaLattuca : I agree with your exaplanation: marked anisocytosis, which means that not all red blood cells are of the same size. Very common in anemia and in people with Beta thalassemia

red blood cell count

I believe quadro rosso may refer to the red blood cell count in a complete blood count, since red blood cell distribution width is a parameter of a red blood cell count that can indicate anisocytosis.
