German term

Überweisung beleglos

German to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) Bank statement
Context:

I am translating a German bank statement. In the list of events / transactions, it says:

"Überweisung beleglos", followed by the name of a company (VATENFAALL, possibly misspelt).

Can anyone help please?

Is "Überweisung" just a transfer? "Beleglos" is showing as "without vouchers", so I am a bit lost here.

@ Nils Regarding Vattenfall, you are right that hydropower is a major part of their business in the domestic market, but the company also operates nuclear power plants in Sweden (previously in Germany, too) and coal-fired plants in Germany (as well as open-cast lignite mines). This means that, on the whole, the company is not as environmentally friendly as it appears at first glance.

Not a government 'agency' but ... ... a state-owned group of companies. In this particular case, this could just be a bank transfer to pay an electricity bill (Vattenfall being the provider/supplier).

Yes, "VATTENFALL" is the short version for a Swedish orgnisation that does much business in Germany. Used to be a government agency, not sure of of its current legal form. Used to be mainly about hydropower (the word means, unsurprisingly, "waterfall").

neutral Steffen Walter : But your suggestion would refer to a POS (point-of-sale; shop) transaction. Not sure at all if this is meant here, all the more so because Vattenfall is mentioned.

Perhaps the link posted wasn't too good a choice. I don't think the use of "transfer without receipt" is limited to on-site transactions near the cash register in shops (POS transactions).

or electronic remittance seems the most logical in your case, i.e. without a paper-trail
