Marketing - Medical: Health Care
German term or phrase: die Umstellung von Farben auf Nummern
This term comes from an internal document in a healthcare company called Attends which lists the documents that are available to the sales manager to help ensure the clients are satisfied. The whole sentence is "Individuelle Produktumstellungsübersicht mit bisherigem Produkt und Attends zur Sicherstellung der Umstellung von Farben auf Nummern in kurzer Zeit". I can't visualise what is going on here at all - is this a metaphor for something?

change colours to numbers

Explanation:
It's not a metaphor. They really only talk about a change from colours to numbers and a product change overview. I think, as this is internal, that they want to keep track of the products they already have changed and still need to change? Would that work? We have a similar procedure here and the more I read your statement there, the more likely it seems it's just that.
The fact that it is individual just means that the manager gets his own product group done, I'd say.

Example sentence(s):
  • We are changing our identification system from colours to numbers.
