After thanking a lot of people for their help, including hired people and family members, the speaker says:

Eu entendi, pelo contexto, que a exclamação foi por ter agradecido a muitas pessoas.
Se quisesse falar da qualidade da equipe, para traduzir "Que gente maravilhosa" teria dito "what a staff", mas como é "what a lot of staff" o que ele quis ressaltar é o número de pessoas.

: Olá, Nick. O termo "malta" é usado somente em Portugal e, talvez, em outros países lusófonos. No Brasil, não seria compreendido.
