English term

closer call of late

English to Italian Bus/Financial Finance (general)
We have ourselves preferred developed to emerging markets for quite some time tactically, but it has been a closer call of late and we doubt that such a pessimistic outlook is warranted.

Discussion

Virginie Mair Mar 3, 2014:
You have two phrases here. Of late: recently. Close call: very borderline, i.e. almost a failure or an almost loss-making strategy.

neutral Virginie Mair : no it is not about more risk here

I mean "rischio" in its broad sense, not an actual danger, but the eventuality to lose.
