Hi all -
I am translating a patient summary for one who has cardiac issues.
Here is what the doctor recommends:
Terapia con farmaci attivi sul circolo polmonare
While the meaning is clear, I am not sure of the proper translation of sul circolo polmonare.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

on the pulmonary circulation
"Administration of selective pulmonary vasoconstrictors and vasodilators is the basis of the pharmacologic approach to hypoxemia during ARDS. Ideally, these vasoactive ***drugs act on the pulmonary circulation*** while having little or no effect on systemic circulation."

While the heart is one organ, the two sides work separately, pumping blood to two different systems; deoxygenated blood is pumped to the lungs (pulmonary circulation, right side of the heart), while oxygenated blood is pumped to the rest of the body via the aorta (systemic circulation, left side; indeed the left ventricle is much thicker than the right ventricle, allowing it create the greater force needed to pump the blood to the rest of the body).
