Italian term

ritranciatura a netto

Italian to English Bus/Financial Manufacturing leather goods
One of the many processes associated with the production process for leather goods

"la spaccatura; la scarnitura, la soppannatura, **la ritranciatura a netto** dei Materiali medesimi, ecc.."

I have found that 'tranciare' in leather -working vocab is 'shearing', but imagine that there must be a precise English equivalent to 'ritranciatura a netto'
Is it maybe the same as 'precision shearing', which I have seen associated with leather...?

Many thanks in advance

Thanks, Susy, we were indeed right. I had to check with the client (can't afford to guess in a legal contract!) but it is indeed precision shearing!

Hello Lorraine, it looks like "precision shearing" is a suitable translation. This is about precise cutting, and has nothing to do with punching holes.

Proposed translations

10 hrs

punching, act of perforating, act of making holes

punzonatura (f)
n. punching, act of perforating, act of making holes
Low level of confidence since this is not my area.

di punzonatura (detta impropriamente anche ritranciatura)
Found this in google, but in a different context, so I am not sure.
