Dear colleagues,
I hope you can help me with this: I have a reference to an ISBN in a translation which includes several acronyms and looks like this:
ISBN xxx-x-xxxxxx-xx-x (pbk.: alk. paper)
I think "pbk." might refer to paperback but I'm not 100% sure.
Any suggestions and/or resources where I can search?

: Exactamente, así es. No sé si este es el caso, pero en USA las universidades exigen que las tesis y disertaciones se entreguen para publicación en papel alcalino.

La cuestión del papel alcalino: creo que no está tan extendido en España como para que un lector no especializado en temas técnicos pueda identificar en todos los casos el significado de "papel alc." por ejemplo. Si puedes mi sugerencia sería dejar "papel alcalino" por una cuestión de claridad y comprensión.
