involvement

it`s not a substitute for "beleving" or "ervaring", but I thought about involvement, for people experience through involvement.

I think that experience is the best translation (it has a wide and accurate range), although I`m tempted to find something that concerns evaluation, awareness, feeling, sensation, etc.

Although experience sounds a bit stiff, I can`t find a better one...hm...

agree AllisonK (X) : could work, but perhaps 'level of involvement' expresses it even better

uh-huh *nodding* I`m looking for a word that expresses its constituent parts, "be" and "leving" ;) "a lively experience", maybe?? Hmm.. Have some doubts on this one, too.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Dankjewel voor de vertaling. De term involvement" is een goed alternatief voor experience. Simpel, maar je moet er maar opkomen! "

perception

as an alternative to "experience"
Peer comment(s):

agree Kate Hudson (X) : - perception is not always experience and vice versa. I really meant that you can use perception but should not confuse it with experience as Alisson says.

agree AllisonK (X) : with Kate, but I think this might actually be preferable given the context; how the people perceive the situation within the family, etc.
