English term

Futurescape

English to Spanish Other Social Science, Sociology, Ethics, etc.
We come to a futurescape of total mass media control.

-scape,
a combining form extracted from landscape, denoting “an extensive view, scenery,” or “a picture or representation” of such a view, as specified by the initial element: cityscape; moonscape; seascape

Is there any good word or expression in Spanish (Peninsular or otherwise) for this concept?
I understand that "futurescape" could be translated as

"escenario futuro"
"panorama futuro"
"horizonte futuro"
"vista futura"

Or some such periphrasis...

Is there a "better" option?
Even a Spanish neologism I am not aware of?

panorama futuro

Creo que en el contexto de tu frase es la mejor opción.

Hola John: "Futurorama" no tiene futuro, valga la redundancia, por cacofónico, pero no me extrañaría que futurama prosperase.
Hoy por hoy, creo que es mejor no complicarse la vida. Saludos.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer.

Saludos :-)

“escenario futuro”, “escenario futuro”

Hello John:

Your question is about the translation to Spanish of the expression “futurescape”.

My analysis is similar to your analysis considering the meaning of “-scape” (landscape, cityscape)
URL: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/-scape

I don’t see that we have to invent a new term because “escenario futuro” and “panorama futuro” plug well with “futurescape”.

MY PROPOSAL:

- “escenario futuro”

- “panorama futuro”

Both terms work in different contexts: personal subjects, economic analysis, political analysis, social analysis...

Regards

Domingo

Sorry, in the label I wanted to say: - “escenario futuro” or “panorama futuro”.

Excuse me.

Domingo

Note from asker:
Hello Domingo! I appreciate your input and extensive references. As I mention to Beatriz, interestingly enough, there are a couple of (unnecessary?) neologisms that I tried to "invent", just to immediately confirm that the anarchic cyber pirates of the "Cybernean" seas are already using them... (I also have to tell you I felt like the Buridan's ass trying to choose the "most helpful answer"... because all of them are equally helpful...) At any rate, thank you very much once again.
