I've translated "Fachausschuss" as "expert committee" but can't see a way to fit "Profession" together with it and come up with a coherent phrase. If it helps, this refers to a professional trade organisation.

Fits the purpose of the committee as stated in the paragraph. Just calling it a committee "on the profession" is a bit too non-descript, in my opinion. While it's typically best not "to improve" a source text (that could be slippery slope), I hope I'll get away with it here since the description of the committee doesn't sound particularly meaningful in German and even worse in close translation.
