French term

voie très épaisse

French to English Medical Medical (general) Surgical Report of a Kidney Transplant
Within the context of the following sentence, I am finding it difficult to work out the meaning of those 3 words:

"Anastomose urétéro-vésicale direct compte-tenu d'une petite vessie déshabitée depuis très longtemps par voie très épaisse par un surjet de PDS 5/0"

I am wondering it is referring to a thick layer of sutures, or if I am totally off the mark.

thanks

vessie à paroi très épaisse would make more sense to me

I'd check with the client if possible.
