As I understand it, a "Falschbau" is an end product that may work perfectly well but is "incorrect" because some "wrong" (as in wrong for that particular model) parts have been used (e.g. you put Ford Focus wheels on a Ford Fiesta, or something like that). So the product doesn't meet the specification. I feel there ought to be a more specific term than "faulty assembly" but I haven't yet put my finger on it.
